The transits routine enables the user to calculate the transiting
aspects to any saved chart over a period that can extend from one
to twelve months. The starting planet and time period are set by
entering the desired values in CUSTOM95.COM. The default is to
start with Mars and calculate for a six-month period. To run the
transits routine you must have calculated and saved at least one
chart to file.
The prompt `Major Aspects Only (Y/N)' is asking whether you only
want to see conjunctions, oppositions, squares, trines, and
sextiles. If your answer is other than 'Y' you will also see the
semi-square, sesquiquadrate, quintile, and inconjunct aspects.
The prompt DATE: MM.DD.YYYY ? asks you to enter the date when you
want the transits list to start.
The prompt LONGITUDE: DDD.MM ? asks you to enter the geographical
longitude where you now live.
The time required to run the transits routine on a PC or an XT will
display at the bottom of the screen, together with an indication
of the starting planet and list period.
The output shows the date and AM or PM when the transiting aspect
becomes exact. The aspect designations `UPPER' and `LOWER'
follow the practice of Grant Lewi in Astrology for the Millions of
positioning the natal planet at the ascendant and viewing the
transiting planet relative to that. The older astrological terms
`dexter' and `sinister' mean the same thing.
Release 9.5 adds to the transits list the times when transiting
planets cross house cusps. For example, JUP CJN 11TH means Jupiter
conjunct the 11th house cusp. The times of conjunction with the
1st and 10th house cusps will show as conjunctions to the Ascendant
and Midheaven.
Because of the amount of work required to develop the transits
list, unregistered users can obtain this list only for their
first saved chart.
